The Danish fishing equipment industry has a long history which constitutes a solid platform for experts in the production flow - from fishing vessels to fresh, frozen, ready-to-load-on-truck products.

Prosperous period for the Danish fishing industry

Danish companies invest considerable amounts of money every year in research and development of the fishing industry. An increasing number of worldwide financial and environmental problems have called for new cost-saving equipment in recent years, and as competition becomes stronger, higher standards and approvals are demanded for fishing equipment and technology. Danish factories are equipped with the most modern production machinery and employ effective quality control methods.

The Danish fishing industry has recently entered a prosperous period after the financial crisis, with 760.000 tonnes of fish during 2010 – 6% more than in 2009. Denmark has more than 3,000 companies within the fishing industry, and the revenue of the industrial fishery sector has risen 86% during 2010.

The Danish Fishing Equipment Group represents leading Danish companies of all sizes within this industry and works as a link between Danish subcontractors and foreign buyers.
The group was founded in 1976 and consists of about 70 members, making it the largest network of its kind in Scandinavia. Its members specialise in modern machinery, equipment and products for the international fishing industry.
