The Norwegian trawler “Havbris” has returned from its first fishing trip with four newly installed automatic vertical plate freezers from DSI and CARNITECH onboard.
The freezer type in question is a newly developed vertical plate freezer with bottom-unloading which is unique and simple in its construction. The freezing part is automatically lifted and subsequently the frozen blocks are fed onto the integrated conveyor and automatically transferred below the freezers to the packaging and palletising area.
During the vessel's first trip with the new freezers, more than 250 tons of fish were frozen. The freezing process proceeded smoothly and without problems, and the owners of “Havbris” expressed their satisfaction with the freezers. One of the major advantages of this new freezer type is the space saved compared to other known systems, as the freezer and the conveyor are an integrated unit. Another advantage is that installation costs can be kept low as the freezers are delivered as a complete unit.
Expectations for the new freezer are very high and negotiations are underway with several ship-owners interested in installing this freezer.
DSI (A/S Dybvad Stål Industri) continues to enjoy great success with its wide range of products. In 2006, the company again set a new record for freezer sales with more than 300 units sold
This month the first automatic unloading system, ABU06, for DSI standard vertical plate freezers, will be installed onboard a Dutch trawler. Expectations for this new system are high, as it is the only system capable of unloading all blocks at one time and which has been specially designed for use in DSI standard plate freezers. This also means that the ABU06 unloading system can be mounted on existing freezers.
