Aqua Nor is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and in connection with this anniversary the Nor-Fishing Foundation is organising a conference in cooperation with the International Salmon Farmers Association (ISFA) on Thursday 20 August 2009. Speakers from salmon producing countries around the world will address the audience.
Trond Davidsen of the FHL (The Norwegian Seafood Federation), who is also a Board Member of the Nor-Fishing Foundation, is responsible for organising the conference.
"We are extremely pleased to announce that a number of very central people in the industry have agreed to speak at the conference, which will offer a review of 30 years of very impressive development of the Norwegian and international aquaculture industry as well as look ahead to new opportunities and challenges,” says Mr Davidsen.
The Chairman of the Board of FHL, Ole-Eirik Lerøy, will greet the participants and officially open the conference. The speakers include: Chairman of the Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation, Phil Thomas: Chile’s Minister of Economy, Hugo Lavados: and Secretary General of the Federation of European Aquaculture Producers, Courtney Hough.
The conference will be held in the exhibition hall area and will begin with an informal buffet seafood lunch hosted by the Nor-Fishing Foundation. It is expected that the conference will be of great interest to exhibitors, visitors and guests from near and far, and that every seat will be taken.
