Voyager Fishing Company Ltd of Northern Ireland has signed a building contract with Danish shipyard Karstensen Skibsverft for construction of Voyager, a combined purse seiner/trawler.
Vik-Sandvik has designed the new vessel and will deliver all building documentation. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in the summer of 2010. The vessel will have 10 fish holds, all with RSW cooling.
The engine room is located aft with one main engine connected to reduction gearbox and one CP propeller with propeller nozzle.
The sonar room, RSW machinery room and tunnel thruster room are forward.
The vessels speed is calculated to approximately 17 knots in ballast conditions at a main engine output of 6000kW.
The vessel shall have accommodation and certificate fifteen persons in the following cabins: nine single berth cabins with separate bathroom; three double berth cabins, with separate bathroom; and one hospital with separate bathroom.
