HB Grandi’s new pelagic vessel under construction in Turkey, ‘Venus NS’, is expected to go on sea trials on 22 March.
According to Thórarinn Sigurbjörnsson, who has overseen the construction at the Celiktrans Deniz Insaat Ltd yard, the last few days have been busy ones with all of the ship’s systems being started up and tested.
He said that the decks have been painted, the engine room painting is almost finished and the finishing touches are being put to the floors of the wheelhouse and accommodation. Some of the furnishing have been put in place and the galley, cold store and freezer are being finished now.
If everything goes according to plan, the company expects to take delivery of the new vessel next month.
