Birkenhead UK based contractor MPE Interiors has supplied its manufacturing and outfitting expertise to an Irish shipyard building a new salmon farm vessel.

MPE manufactured furniture and fittings for the new Sally Ann, built at Arklow Marine Services in County Wicklow. The vessel is a 23m long inspection tender that will be operated by Scottish Sea Farms.
Cliff Grainger, MPE director, said: “The Sally Ann manufacturing and fit-out contract demonstrated our quality craftsmanship, reliability and good working relationships with customers.”
MPE manufactured almost all the furniture and fittings, including the soft furnishings, as well as fitting out the crew cabins, galley, mess room, washing facilities and the wheelhouse. It also undertook manufacture of the partitions, linings, internal doors, ceilings and flooring.
Scottish Sea Farms has commissioned work to Arklow previously and Mr Grainger said that this latest contract was secured because of the high standard of previous work coming from the shipyard and its suppliers.
MPE Interiors works in three main sectors - maritime, commercial property and residential property. Its maritime work includes design, manufacture and fitting-out of ferries, ships and super-yachts.
Arklow Marine Services’ work includes boat building, refit and repair across the whole commercial marine sector and offshore and engineering contracts.
Scottish Sea Farms is based in Argyll. Its work extends across the west coast of Scotland and throughout the northern isles of Shetland and Orkney. It supplies salmon to customers across the UK and continental Europe.
