The Scottish Salmon Company has won two Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards for ‘Export Business of the Year’ and overall ‘Business of the Year’.

The Scottish Salmon Company has been focused on continuing to grow its presence in international markets and impressed with judges with its reach and ambition to provide the finest Scottish salmon across the globe.

Salmon is UK’s largest food export, representing 40% of the total value of Scottish food exports and The Scottish Salmon Company is the leading producer with all its facilities in Scotland.

Its top three export markets are Europe, USA and the Far East, with considerable growth plans in the pipeline in Asia, where the company intends to double its presence in the region over the next three years.

The Scottish Salmon Company increased the number of countries it exports to from 17 in 2013 to 24 in 2014. Exports now make up 43% of revenue and the aim is grow this to 50% by the end of 2016.

Commenting on the double award win, Craig Anderson, Managing Director, said; “This evening has been an incredible occasion; to be recognised as a successful business in the export field was amazing, but to also receive the business of the year award from the judges has just blown us away.

“Our focus is passion, pride and provenance and these values underpin everything that we do. Scotch whisky has been the export trailblazer in the past, but Scottish salmon is now hot on its heels. Our continued success internationally is as a result of clear objectives, a robust strategy and sheer determination.”
