Trident Seafoods is adding value to its operations with a new US$41m processing facility in Georgia.

Tridents says the new 104,000 sq ft facility will add value by producing portion-controlled frozen seafood products using frozen fish fillets and fillet blocks as raw material.
It will also produce a range of battered, glazed, breaded, fryer-and-oven-ready frozen products and is expected to create around 175 jobs.
Nathan Deal, Georgia Governor, said: “Georgia is the logical place for Trident Seafoods to expand its East Coast operations. From our highway system that allows trucks to reach 80% of the US market in two days, to our highly trained workforce, the state offers a wealth of resources to help Trident reach its business goals.”
The Carroll County facility is located in a former food production and storage plant and offers refrigerated storage and an onsite wastewater treatment plant.
The company says it has plans to expand the facility by an additional 43,000 sq ft. Completion of the project is expected in Q4 2014.
