Isfell will be showing traditional equipment at Icefish 2008, explains managing director, Hólmsteinn Björnsson.
“The relationship with our suppliers is very strong and we will be sharing our stand with them,” he says.
Companies sharing the Isfell stand include:
• Bridon, UK
• Parsons Chain, UK
• Garware, India
• Morgere, France
• Rapp Hydema, Norway
• Castro, Spain
• King Chou, Taiwan
• DSB, Germany
• Cyklop, Denamark
• Selstad, Norway
• Eagle Claw, USA
Special emphasis will this year be placed on fuel saving fishing gear, such as a new Morgere trawl doors, lighter pelagic trawls as well as traditional bottom trawls from lighter and stronger material.
Significant company news is that Isfell signed a two-year contract at the beginning of the year for delivering Bridon trawl warps to Samherji vessels - both in Iceland and abroad – a total of approximately 15 vessels. A similar contract has also been signed with trawler fishing company Brim and pelagic fishing company Isfelag Vestmannaeyja.
A selection of products will be on display and representatives from the companies will be available to discuss their requirements. “People have seen the equipment before so there is no need to bring all of the products to Iceland!” says Mr Björnsson. “We will more be emphasising our servicing capability. Icefish is a place for people to meet, to sit down and talk.
“We like the Icefish show – it is the only one we take part in!” Mr Björnsson concludes.
