Swedish manufacturer X-Chain System AB has produced a X-chain gear linkage which it says will help towards more effective fishing.
The linkage system has a simple and safe length adjustment of the fishing gear without tools.
The company also says fewer replacement units means more value for money and improves the working environment for the crew.
The X-chain system comes with a combination of shackle and non-shackle equipment where the shackles do not need to be opened for adjustment.
X-Chain say it is 'a fisherman's nightmare' to release the shackle joints in heavy sea conditions and bad weather. It says the problem with chains is the difficulty to quickly adjust the length.
The company claims there is a great need in the industry for a quick method to correct the chain length in order to obtain optimal efficiency in trawling.
According to X-Chain its systems links have been designed to provide a brand new option for the easy and quick adjustment of the length og the chains without the use of tools.
