Modern fishing vessel ‘Taurus’ has entered service in Russia.

The new trawler was delivered to ZAO TAURUS of Murmansk in December 2013, and features state-of-the-art fishing and fish processing equipment. The vessel is 63.85m long and the breadth is 13.5m, and the planned catch through-put is up to 100t of fish per day.
Automated lines make it possible to slaughter and freeze cod, and produce fillets and canned fish with minimum manned operation. Production processes are monitored online from the office of the owner company in Murmansk. According to estimates by experts who took part in the construction survey, this is the most sophisticated Russian-flagged vessel ever to join the fishing fleet.
The new trawler was built by Uljanik Shipyard of Pula, the oldest shipyard in Croatia. The shipyard is currently outfitting a sister ship - Mirakh - for ZAO Murmanseld 2. Delivery of this trawler is planned for July 2014.
