On 18 March the Spanish flagged purse seiner Txori Argi was inspected in Mozambique, and has been set an administrative penalty of approximately €1.2m for illegal fishing in the Mozambique EEZ.
The fishing vessel arrived in Nacala and was inspected by officials from the Directorate of Fisheries Surveillance. The Minister of Fisheries, after due consideration of all findings, has sent a notification to the Spanish authorities and the company of the administrative penalty equating to €1.2m.
