SELEX Communications, a Finmeccanica company, has been awarded a significant, three-year contract by The Corporation of Trinity House, the official General Lighthouse Authority for England, Wales and other British territorial waters (with the exception of Scotland, the Isle of Man, Northern Ireland).
The contract is for the inspection, maintenance, repair and supply of marine navigational equipment onboard the Corporation’s multi-functional tenders, THV Galatea and THV Patricia, and the rapid intervention vessel THV Alert.
In fulfilling the contract, SELEX Communications will provide timely, cost-effective inspection, maintenance, repair and supply services for navigational equipment and systems onboard vessels owned or operated by the Corporation at King’s Dock, Swansea, and Harwich, Essex.
During the duration of the contract, the company will ensure that equipment connected to the Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDSS) is in efficient working order, and in compliance with statutory regulations and/or international regulations from time to time in force in respect of such equipment
Nigel Bond, Head of Marine, comments, “This contract continues SELEX Communications’ and Trinity House’s close relationship over the last 10 years. This is reflected in ongoing contracts for maintenance of onboard equipment, airtime services and supply and installation of equipment. We look forward to extending this partnership into the future.”
