US supermarket chain Wegmans has joined public-private partnership the Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative (GSSI) as a Funding Partner.

“By partnering with GSSI, we’re able to further our commitment to responsibly sourced seafood, while building trust with our customers. Using GSSI’s benchmarking as a foundational tool in our sourcing strategy will help clarify our expectations to our farmers, fishers, and suppliers,” Wegmans Seafood Group Manager, Steve Philips, said.
