Scanmars big step forwards

Scanmar’s new developments, the ScanBas, ScanMate and ScanCatch, have been developed to suit a wide range of users groups aznd the systems can be upgraded and expanded with new sensors when needed.

Increased screen sizes from 10 inch to 29 inch give better readability, according to Scanmar. There is also a remote control option and the grahic display gives a very easy to read images thus making adjustments quicker and easier.

ScanBas replaces the CGM system and has 25 times greater processing power than the old system. It has an automatic choice of hydrophone features and comes three different graphic monitors, 15 inch, 20 and 29 inch.

According to Scanmar, the ScanBas can handle up to 10 sensors on one screen plus the Trawleye. ScanBas can easily be operated by remote control and can be extended with several slave monitors so that different images can be displayed simultaneously.

The ScanMate replaces the previous Rx 400 and 600 systems. ScanMate can handle all sensors except the Trawleye and up to six sensors can be displayed depending on screen size. It comes with two different graphic monitors at 10 and 15 inch.

Scanmar’s ScanCtach is a new system aimed at the coastal fleet. It replaces the 600 series but has simpler solutions than ScanBas and ScanMate. The ScanBas system comes with a 10 inch graphic screen and presents displays distance and trawl sounder in a graphic which, according to the company, makes it easier to maintain control of trawl geometry.

All Scnmar’s new catch control systems can be used when fishing with purse seines.
