The SIMEC exhibition is planned as the first diversified marine exhibition in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, attracting local and international exhibitors working in fisheries, aquaculture and seafood in addition to marine tourism and various marine industries.
According to organisers City Events, the Kingdom's 2030 vision for achieving sustainable development in the fisheries development sector is one of the most important goals. Statistics show a domestic demand in Saudi Arabia for 383,000 tonnes of seafood annually, with 14,865 fishing boats and 30,370 staff participating in the country’s seafood industry.
Latest figures also indicate a significant increase in the volume of production for the aquaculture sector, including marine, inland water and shrimp production, and future investments in aquaculture will exceed 17 billion Saudi riyals between now and 2030.
The event will take place 25th-27th January 2021 and will be held in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
