The company, which recently invested more than £3m in a state of the art water recirculation facility at its hatchery facility in Furnace, has donated £500 to Tayinloan Village Committee to help revamp local amenities.

Mark Warrington, managing director, Meridian Salmon Group, said: “We are dedicated to supporting the local communities both in and around where we operate and we are delighted that we have been able to help Tayinloan Village Committee as part of its community rejuvenation mission.”

Tayinloan Village Committee will use the £500 to upgrade a children’s play area which has become dilapidated in recent years.

Meridian has also arranged for a garden bench to be donated to the village by one of its key suppliers, Fusion Marine.

Meridian Salmon Group is one of the top five salmon farming companies in Scotland. It operates at 61 sea sites and 19 freshwater sites across Scotland and Cumbria and is currently developing its new facility in the former Lexmark building in Rosyth, which when finished will be the biggest processing plant in the UK.
