The Saffire vessel monitoring system for fisheries and other commercial shipping operations has been updated and rebranded as Globavista.

Globavista is now replacing the existing Saffire system in many countries.

Saffire has been in use with many leading government fisheries department’s around the world, some for more than 20 years, but advancements in technology mean that Globavista now provides a fresh, dynamic vessel monitoring platform and data service.

Globavista says that the new web portal provides the user with the most flexible feature rich maritime tracking solution available. The Core Portal presents information using a combination of S57 maritime charts and/or the universally used Google map interface. Globavista can accept data from all recognised satellite service providers, AIS, Inmarsat, Iridium, GSM/GPRS/3G and our own VHF/UHF radio devices.

Other key features include: environmental data, including sea-state and windspeed; geofences and alerts; and integrated official territorial and EEZ defined limits.
