The first batch of frozen King Crab sections for the seafood distributor 02 Arctic Crab has arrived in Spain. The total volume of delivery under the contract will be 32 tonnes.

The King Crab is the first Russian Far East delicacy in the Spanish distributor’s catalogue. “We work with raw materials directly from their origins, with products processed on board to guarantee the best freshness and quality,” commented Javier Villar Van Reybroeck, commercial director of 02 Arctic Crab. “Russian Crab brand products are of high quality, good infill and excellent taste,” he added.

Russian Crab produce is made according to HACCP standards and the fleet is equipped for live crab and cooked frozen crab production. Live crab vessels store and deliver their catch in chilled treated and filtered seawater tanks and processor vessels process the crab into cooked/frozen produce immediately upon catching.

The fleet consists of 19 vessels and the annual quota for 2021 is 12,860 tonnes in the north western subzones of the Pacific. The company, which is currently undergoing MSC certification, exports live and cooked/frozen crab to China, South Korea, Japan, the USA and the EU.
