Marine electronics expert, Raymarine, has launched a new sonar and GPS system which incorporates high resolution sonar imaging into a single unit - an affordable option for both inland and coastal anglers.

Raymarine’s new Dragonfly Sonar/GPS system

The Dragonfly Sonar/GPS system brings the powerful and crisp detail of advanced CHIRP sonar together with a GPS chartplotter and dual beam transducer, ideal for smaller fishing vessels.

Dragonfly’s DownVision sonar technology enables anglers to target fish and explore underwater structure. Unlike conventional imaging sonars, the Raymarine system uses CHIRP technology to transmit across a wide spectrum of sonar signals – resulting in a much higher resolution image.

The two CHIRP sonar channels give a simultaneous view of fish targeting and sonar imagery using Dragonfly’s dual sonar, split screen display.

Raymarine’s new system is available from March 2013.
