The Icelandic shipowner Rammi, based in the Fjallabyggd and Thorlakshofn ports, has chosen Ibercisa Deck Machinery for the integral supply of fishing winches and controls on its new fresh fish trawler.
The 47 metre vessel is being built at Turkish shipyard Celiktrans and will be configured for triple trawling based on a design by fellow Icelandic naval design firm, Nautic.
Rammi’s choice is based on previous collaborations between the shipyard, the designer and Ibercisa. Also key to the decision was the latter’s extensive aftersales service provided by local service partner, Marás.
Iceland has been a key market for Ibercisa for more than 40 years and this latest contract reinforces Ibercisa’s position in a geographically strategic area.
