Pier Antonio Salvador is confirmed as the welcome address speaker for the 5th Offshore Mariculture Conference 2014, taking place 9-11 April 2014, Naples, Italy.

Originating from a family of farmers with a long standing in the field of fish farming in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region and a second generation fish farmer, he is the proprietor of the fish farming facility of the same name operating in the sector of trout culture. Since June 2000 he has been the President of API (the Italian Fish Farmers Association) and has held many posts from Minister’s Advisor for Agricultural Food and Forestry Policies in the aquaculture sector to representing the Italian Fish Farmers Association in the Federation of European Aquaculture Producers (feap) in the role of Chairman of the “Health Committee”.
The conference will guide delegates through the current legislation and regulations that have an impact on the development of the industry that must be kept in mind when looking at the economic challenges of securing investment and capital, and the technology needed to ensure profitability. Delegates will receive an insight via case studies on the success of offshore farms operating today as well as new technologies in stock management, cage solutions and developments in feed and nutrition.
