Peter Taboada, S. L. is a company that has been developing water technology for many years in several sectors such as industrial, naval, food, pharmaceutical and health.

The Petfrost system produces salty or fresh germicidal water between 1,000 and 1,200 Redox.
Different species of fish have been tested and upon treatment is has showed that the system reduced pathogen germs and bacteria up to 90%. Listeria is one of the bacteria tested and washing the fish with germicidal water produced by the system eliminates it up to 85%.
Some Spanish salmon companies have tested the system and the results have shown that by using the Petfrost system they have increased the expiry date of their smoked fish by more than 25%.
Using this new technology it is not necessary to add any chemical additives, as the system itself produces ozone and integrates it into water. This high concentration of ozone gives a germicidal effect to the water and does not change the flavour of the food.
Besides using the germicidal water for cleaning fish, the water produced by the Petfrost system is also very useful and suitable for cleaning all machinery and tools used in fish processing.
This project has been developed together with the institute of marine investigation that takes part in the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Sea Technology Center (CETMAR).
