Palfinger Marine has received an order to provide three marine cranes for a new build factory freezer trawler, F/V America’s Finest.

The 265ft vessel is currently being built at the Dakota Creek shipyard in Anacortes, WA for Kirkland based Fishermen’s Finest, F/V America’s Finest. It was being designed by Skipsteknisk in Ålesund, Norway in conjunction with Seattle based Elliot Bay Design Group.

“In this specific segment here in the United States, the word of mouth is more important than anything else”, said Brian Jacob, Palfinger Marine’s business development manager based in Seattle.

He continued: “The Pacific Northwest fisheries are an enormous potential market but it is managed by a very small community of individuals, where everybody knows each other. Our results here will be based on our ability to supply with the best products and services while being reactive and providing the best technical consulting to our customers.”

F/V America’s Finest is the newest factory freezer trawler currently being built in the US. It will be delivered in November 2018 to participate in the North Pacific and Bering Sea Groundfish fisheries.

Mr Jacob concluded: “We are certainly very excited about this order that marks the beginning of something bigger for us here.”

“F/V America’s Finest is a state of the art factory freezer trawler and having these three Palfinger Marine cranes aboard not only proves that Palfinger Marine has been recognised for its high quality, reliability and safety products, it also opens a lot of gates for the Palfinger Marine in the Pacific Northwest fishing fleet.”
