Danish plate freezer manufacture Dybvad Stål Industri says orders are very strong and that Icelandic company Sjolaskip H.F. has just order 28 vertical plate freezers on top of an earlier order of 69 vertical freezers for their new vessels. Fresh Catch in Scotland has put in another order following its earlier purchase of a number of DSI freezers.
A company statement said they are about to ship 10 large, horizontal freezers to a customer in Far East Russia who already has more than 30 DSI freezers. Five freezers are due for shipping to Vladivostok this month with more orders already committed.
DSI is also making inroads into other sectors with orders from juicing plants (10 freezers are being shipped to Mexico) as well as orders from abattoirs and pet food companies. Sales manager Peter N Christensen says they have won market share from competitors.
He said DSI was testing an automatic unloading system for DSI standard vertical plate freezers, which DSI hopes will take off as they can installed on exciting DSI plate freezers onboard freezing vessels.
