Offshore Mariculture Conference 2014

Business management, investment, insurance and risk assessment, stock management and husbandry and innovative technologies are among the topics for the 2014 Call for Papers.

Mercator Media’s Offshore Mariculture Conference will examine the progress and prospects for farming offshore, covering everything from the latest legislation, investment and financial issues, managing, marketing and the day-to-day running of an offshore business, to the latest technical advances that will help to make the life of the marine aqua culturist easier.

The Call for Papers has been realised and abstracts on the following topics must be submitted by Friday 6 September:

· The latest international developments in offshore aquaculture:
International legislation, policies strategies and developments

· Business management:
Investment, insurance and risk assessment
Marketing of “offshore” products
Species choice, integrating with seaweed/renewable energy systems
Spatial planning, Integrated Coastal Zone Management

· Stock management and husbandry:
Fish welfare
Health management strategies
Feeding strategies
Stock management to control reproduction

· Innovative Technologies:
Harvesting and processing technologies
Cage engineering
Onshore facilities (including hatcheries)
Containment systems and other strategies for escapes
Moorings, feed systems, cages and netting

Abstracts should be 200 words and be sent together with a biography and photograph of the speaker to conferences@offshoremariculture.com
