INOXCVA, under the supervision of energy consultancy firm Fuelgarden, has commissioned what is thought to be the UK’s first ever multifunctional mini LNG terminal in Kyleakin for MOWI Scotland.

The terminal is designed according to EN1473, the British standard for installation and equipment for liquefied natural gas, and approved by UK HSE and Highland Council as a Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations Upper Tier facility.

Vijay Kalaria, global head - LNG at INOXCVA said that it was a momentous occasion. “With this implementation, we are glad to have developed an innovative and world class solution which will pave the way for adoption of LNG across the globe by various industries,” he said.

The mini LNG Terminal will include two 1000m3 vacuum insulated storage tanks, ship bunkering station, 300m vacuum jacketed piping, trailer loading station and vaporisation system, suitable for natural gas consumption by fish feed factory.

The terminal will be capable of taking LNG through small ships as well as by semi-trailer and IMO container.
