Caterpillar looks back on good results in 2001

Engine specialist Caterpillar has reported successful results for 2001 with increased sales and order intakes by about 30% and 40% respectively compared with 2000.

The company says it has received a ‘extremely positive’ market acceptance of the latest engine series the M43, and has benefited from the concentration of all marine engine related sales and service activities into a Caterpillar Marine Division.

Caterpillar also reports good running results for its new gas engine G CM 34.

The company has also extended and strengthened its worldwide market presence, in particular by

involving selected Caterpillar dealers withe experience in the engine business.

Caterpillar has recently restructured its German organisation trading under a new name of MaK Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG.

The company says this independence gives Caterpillar greater flexibility in sales and service areas.
