Ross Layton has been with Marel since 2010. He brings with him a wealth of expertise in most aspects of the processing industry. This includes over ten years in the meat protein sector and experience of having held key positions with a number of leading machinery manufacturers.

Marel is a leading global supplier of advanced standalone equipment and integrated systems to the fish industry. It combines its extensive knowledge of fish processing with heavy investment in product development to create innovative equipment, systems and software for processing whitefish and salmon, both farmed and wild, onboard and ashore.

Marel’s Fish Industry Center (IC Fish) has since developed further to comprise three strategic centres with distinct industry knowledge. One based in Seattle, USA, focuses on onboard systems, high volume processing and wild salmon; another in Gardabaer, Iceland focuses on whitefish systems; and the salmon division is at Norresundby in Denmark.

The company's training and demo facility Copenhagen, Progress Point, will host Salmon ShowHow in February 2014 - the first large scale event to be hosted at the centre.
