Trapananda Seafarms has become the latest member of the NFI Salmon Council.
Acting as the North American commercial office of major Chilean salmon producer Australis Seafoods S.A., Trapananda Seafarms markets and sells Atlantic salmon, Pacific salmon and steelhead trout to American consumers.
Trapananda Seafarms products are distinctive of the Chilean Patagonia region. With a supply chain that handles every stage of the growth process, Trapananda’s salmon is hatched, farmed and processed in a certified, controlled environment.
“Trapananda Seafarms’ products are linked with southern Chile,” said managing director Rick Cano. “Because salmon is a global product, we are excited to join the council to bring fuller attention to the unique contributions our region makes to world salmon production. In doing so, we also hope to promote the positive qualities and benefits shared by all salmon.”
Salmon Council chairman, Gianfranco Nattero, welcomed Trapananda Seafarms as the most recent Chilean company to join the marketing group.
“Trapananda Seafarms is one of several Chilean salmon companies who have recently signed onto the Salmon Council,” said Mr Nattero. “Producing over a quarter of the world’s salmon, Chile is a necessary voice in the effort to raise salmon consumption.”
Agrosuper and Multiexport Foods have also become new council members.
