Two American and one Canadian company have become new members of the Sea Pact group - Stavis Seafood, A.C. Covert, and J.J. McDonnell, taking its size up to nine.

Stavis Seafood is a family business that has been a Boston Waterfront landmark since 1929. It distributes both nationally and internationally from their primary distribution facility in Boston.

A.C. Covert has been helping to deliver Atlantic Canada’s fish and shellfish since 1938. It’s known for its well known Jail Island Seafood brand.

J.J. McDonnell has established a market leadership position in Maryland, Washington D.C and Northern Virginia as a provider of high quality seafood products and services. Founded in 1945, it services a wide range of customers, in both retail and foodservice.

Sea Pact aims to make the seafood industry more sustainable and eco-friendly. The group works with the New Venture Fund and receives sustainability counsel from non-profit organisations such as FishWise and Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP).

The founding members of Sea Pact are Albion Fisheries, Fortune Fish & Gourmet, Ipswich Shellfish Group, Santa Monica Seafood, Seacore Seafood and Seattle Fish Co.
