Details of a new Icelandic logo for responsible fisheries will be announced by Dr Kristján Thórarinsson, vice chair of the Fisheries Association of Iceland during the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition, 2-4 October 2008.
A decision has been taken to identify Icelandic seafood products, produced from catches in Icelandic waters, with an Icelandic logo for responsible fisheries. This logo indicates product origin in Iceland from responsible fisheries. The logo can be used in all markets for seafood products and it can also be used to identify catch of Icelandic vessels from straddling stocks which are under integrated management.
