Belgian company Marelec has introduced its modified weighing scale, new catch management software and new marine graders to the fishing industry this year.

Onboard weighing
Marelec has modified its motion-compensated weighing scale to weigh faster and more accurately and now has the EC certificate in accordance with 2009/23/EC NAWI.
The new D100 readout now has a 15” colour touch screen with more than 1500 product/size combinations, and the screen can be easily configured in different languages.
Marelec has also developed the new C50 catch management software to store all data in a safe way, as report and data transmitting has become a must in daily operations. Generating catch reports can be done within a few seconds, and, whenever the E-logbook is required, Marelec has the approved version according to directive 1077/2008 d.d. 3/11/2008.
Grading systems
Hygiene onboard has become more important than ever. Therefore, Marelec has designed the H-series marine graders (Hygienic). These graders have an open structure, which allows access to all components for maximum hygiene and dramatically improves cost effectiveness. The machines have an open yet rugged structure. The modular concept results in maximum flexibility for service and maintenance. The new design and the concept of the MC3 weighing belts guarantee the highest accuracy and speed. The MC3 series weighs products from 20 grams to 20 kg at sea.
Captain James West of the prawn trawler BF-28 Replenish once said: “In case of 45kts we stop grading for safety reasons. However, at that moment the marine grader is still grading accurately.”
