When Marel hosts its Whitefish ShowHow in Copenhagen in September, it will showcase the latest in hi-tech processing systems, bringing industry leaders together under the same roof with equipment and software specialists.

Demonstrations will run over the course of a full day, showing visitors how Marel equipment and software ensure processors can make the most of Industry 4.0 to better utilise raw material, reduce processing time and increase traceability. In addition to the live demonstrations, visitors will be invited to experience cutting-edge innovation and technology via virtual reality.

“The ShowHow strongly reflects what we aim to achieve every year – and every day really – working with our customers in the industry to find better and smarter ways to process fish,” said Marel Fish managing director Sigurður Ólason.

He commented that data is increasingly valuable in today’s hi-tech processing environment and Marel’s software platform – Innova Food Processing Software – will feature prominently at the event. Data is key to gaining full production control and visitors to the Whitefish ShowHow will be able to see data being generated by the machines in real time, and gain insights into how fish processors can become more competitive by improving their ability to track and analyse data.

The Whitefish ShowHow never fails to include new concepts that haven’t yet been released. But in the five years since the event was first held, it has become much more than a programme of demonstrations.

With the advent of Industry 4.0, this type of full collaboration has become more important than ever, as factories take big leaps in automation and rethink every step of the processing value chain.
