Taiwan-based Funz San has built similar slipway winches with pulling forces of 50T, 60T, 125T and 137T for clients in Taiwan, Korea and UK in the past.

Founded in 1975, Funz San is Taiwan’s biggest deck machine manufacturer. The company claims its products have equipped more than 5,000 vessels, ranging from tug boats, fishing boats, cargo ships, research ships and naval ships.

As well as having clients in the aforementioned countries, the company sells to Japan, Dubai, Singapore, China, India, and across both Europe and South East Asia.

Last year, Funz San delivered an anchor handling/towing (AHT) winch to a UK customer. This winch was both BV and ABS certified. It has three speeds and can provide pulling forces of 200T@ 6m/min, 50T@18m//min and 5T@25m/min.

It could also handle anchor chains with diameters 76mm and 64mm. The ATH winch project included two 10Tx20m/min storage reel winches and one 610hp diesel engine power unit.

Another project for the same UK client was a type of towing winch that can provide three pulling forces at three speeds: 150T@5m/min, 50T@18m/min, and 15T@45m/min. This three-speed towing winch is BV certified.

More recently, Funz San delivered several numbers of 12.5T mooring winches, 60T trawl winches and 12-inch fish pumps to be put on a 60,000-tonne fishing boat, owned and operated by a Hong Kong-based fishing company.
