Kvidul has joined forces with Israel-based AquaMaof Aquaculture Technologies to create a land-based RAS facility in Norway.

AquaMaof will deliver its RAS technology for an annual production of up to 20,000 tonnes (WFE) on Brennholmen in Åfjord municipality. The facility, which will be co-financed and owned by both companies, will be built in two phases, each with up to 10,000 tonnes (WFE) annual production. In the first phase, a plant with an annual capacity of ten million smolts will also be delivered.

AquaMaof has created a tailored design for the new farm and will also contribute operational knowhow and support for a defined period post-delivery.

Kvidul has plans for further facilities from AquaMaof to meet its development aspirations. The two will enter a collaboration agreement based on Kvidul’s Green Value Chain. “Kvidul has spent a lot of time evaluating both technologies and equipment that are available in relation to RAS in the market,” said the company.

“We are very pleased that AquaMaof has chosen to enter into a long-term collaboration with us.”
