Land-based salmon farming company Gigante Salmon Rødøy AS has entered into an agreement to purchase intake pumps from Xylem Water Solutions Norge AS.
Xylem’s contract is for the delivery of four pumps for intake water, with an option for a further seven pumps of the same type.
The contract has a value of NOK 7.4 million, and a total of NOK 26.7 million upon exercise of the option for the purchase of 11 pumps. The first four pumps will be delivered from 1 April 2023.
Gigante Salmon said the contract is in line with the investment budget for the company’s project in Rødøy municipality, and the delivery is in line with the agreed progress plan.
Its first production facility is under construction on Lille Indre Rosøya in Rødøy in Norway. This is based on a flow-through system.
