Gaia Salmon is building a post-smolt production facility at Træna, Norway

In a filing with Oslo Børs, the Norwegian company advised that it is investing NOK 155 million for 25.3% ownership in the company.

Rodo Landbasert AS holds approximately 45% ownership.

Gaia Salmon is building a post-smolt production facility at Træna, Norway, with annual capacity of up to 7,200 tonnes of post-smolt.

Aker is invested in offshore aquaculture through SalMar Aker Ocean AS (SAO).

In conjunction with Aker’s direct investment in Gaia Salmon, SAO has signed a non-binding agreement with Gaia Salmon for delivery of post-smolt for offshore salmon farming.

The strategic cooperation will improve SAO’s access to post -smolt, which is an enabler for scaling offshore farming operations.

Aker has the right to increase its ownership in Gaia Salmon related to potential next steps of development in the company.
