WireCo WorldGroup (Euronete/Oliveira) will be exhibiting Eurocross® netting on their joint exhibition stand at DanFish this year.
Eurocross® has been recently introduced and the netting has been well received by net lofts and end users.
Eurocross® is netting produced from HTPE (High Tenacity Polyethylene) and is composed of four high-strength strands. Each one passes through the other, generating a braided effect.
This sophisticated method of producing Eurocross® knotless netting offers the following advantages:
- Superior strength - as the netting is knotless it has 25-30% more strength than knotted netting
- Reduced weight while maintaining strength
- Improved water flow
- Consistent mesh size
- Less damage to catch
- Excellent for square mesh applications
Netting is produced from 300-1200 PLY (6-12mm) in different mesh sizes, and applications include cod-ends in diamond/square meshes, selection grids and escape panels.
The netting has already been introduced in many countries in Europe, the Faroe Islands, Russia and the USA, and is currently being used in trawl and seine fisheries. More countries are expected to be added to the list in the near future.
