Klaas Puul BV is building what is believed to be the largest shrimp production and storage facility in the Netherlands, to process around 20,000,000kg of shrimp.

The Volendam-located factory will cover 5504m2 and builds on the €200m company’s five European locations.
Sander van den Berg, CEO of Klaas Puul BV, said: “A sign of innovation and trust in the future. With this construction future growth is ensured.”
The facility is expected to be completed in 2018.
In addition to the new factory in Volendam, the company’s Edam facility will be expanded.
Klaas Puul BV focuses on sustainable fresh and frozen shell and shellfish products and manages all stages of production and delivery within its business.
To mark the beginning of the building work, the grandchildren of Evert Mooijer, the founder of Klaas Puul, laid the first stone.
