KER Services Ltd is based in Ireland’s premier fishing port of Killybegs and specialises in a wide range of services to the offshore industry, particularly the fishing, aquaculture and oil and gas sectors, as well as providing onshore support to the fish processing plants and commercial and industrial areas.
KER specialises in turnkey solutions for the pelagic and aquaculture sectors. In addition to recommending to the customer the best products and equipment currently available on the market, KER provides project management, engineering, logistic, installation and service as part of the Total Fish Handling Solution package the company offers.
KER was recently invited by the Hong Kong based International Holding Company, Pacific Andes, to carry out extensive upgrading and equipment installation on three of its new vessel acquisitions at Killybegs prior to their recent departure to South America. The work carried out on the M/V Pacific Hunter, M/V Pacific Voyager and M/V Pacific Conquerer included the installation of a complete new vacuum system on two of the vessels, supply and installation of new 16 inch stainless steel piping arrangement on the deck for transfer of fish to forward and aft tanks and re-installation of the Ammonia RSW system. A complete service was carried out on the refrigeration, RSW plants and electrical circuits as well as the supply and installation of new air compressors.
All vessels were supplied with refrigeration, electrical, pneumatic and vacuum system spares along with all materials required for the installation of a new vacuum system on a fourth vessel.
In 2008, KER was involved in some major projects in the port of Killybegs starting with the newly completed 4,800m2 state-of-the-art fish processing plant at Arctic Fish Ltd and the expansion projects at Sean Ward Fish Exports and Norfish Ltd and in 2009 at Gallagher Brothers and Donegal Fish Ltd.
KER has been appointed agent for many companies including Optimar, MMC Tendos, Finsam, Gefico, Salsnes Filter, Marel/Pols,Tekmatronik ApS, MEVA, Hernis Scan Systems, Desmi As, Yamaha and DeWalt, and is also an advisor to Rolls Royce Marine. KER has also recently added Suzuki outboard engines, Miller Oils and Yuasa Batteries to its extensive range.
