International participation at the Offshore Mariculture Conference!
Mercator Media Ltd, organiser of the Offshore Mariculture Conference 2010, is pleased to announce that delegate places have already been booked from as far afield as Australia, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, Spain, USA and The United Kingdom! In addition a number of Croatian fish farmers have already signed up with many more expected to participate, making the Conference an excellent place to network with the industry whilst being updated on the latest policies, technology, products and research.
The Offshore Mariculture Conference, 16-18 June 2010, Hilton Imperial Hotel, Dubrovnik, Croatia, is a two day technical conference with a gala dinner on the evening of the first day. A highly-focused exhibition will run alongside and the Conference concludes with a visit to a Sea bass and Sea bream farm on the third day. This is the first and only event of its kind in Croatia; the decision to hold it here was made as a result of the responses to the survey at the previous Offshore Mariculture Conference held in 2008 in Alicante, Spain.
The Conference is aimed at farming companies, research organisations and suppliers looking to update themselves on the latest policies, products, research within the fin/shell fish and seaweed offshore farming industries. The specific focus on Croatia will enable Government officials from farming nations to learn how they can adapt Croatia's successful spatial planning policy into their own Ministries of Fisheries/Environment and Tourism. International farming companies and suppliers looking to enter/invest in the Croatian market will also be in attendance.
To reflect the aims of the Conference, the programme contains papers covering key research and policy updates - EATiP, NOAA, FAO - practical farming operations - health, feeding, insurance, preventing escapes - spatial planning and monitoring and case studies from Croatian and International fish farmers - Kali Tuna, Riba Mljet, Atlantis Group, Aotearoa Fisheries to name a few.
