A key event in the calendar of fish farmers, HEM takes place the Corfu Imperial Hotel, Corfu, Greece from 17th – 19th October. Corfu has been chosen as the host as fish farming is an integral part of the Greek economy, accounting for 11% of all agriculture exports. The FAO predict that human fish consumption is only expected to rise by 2030 putting a greater emphasis on the need for fish farming, pushing the need for improved operations. The HEM programme in Corfu will aim to tackle this, covering the full end to end of fish farm production on topics including:
- Successful farm operations;
- Site selection;
- Breeding and hatcheries;
- High energy technology;
- Fish health;
- Business development; and,
- Maximising and adding product value.
