At the end of October last year, free Belesta product was distributed at Pittenweem Harbour to skippers who had registered for a campaign run by Belzona Polymerics.
Belzona Polymerics launched the campaign in mid September in which they offered to donate enough of its Belesta LC2 product free of charge to treat the lubrication systems of 100 prawn boats. The aim of the campaign was to support the Scottish Fishing Industry with the high costs of fuel, which have recently hit the industry hard.
Peter Irvine, product manager for Belesta commented, "It was great to see the company owners immediately agree to support one of our oldest market sectors. Take-up of the product was fast and we hope that this gesture will extend the use of Belesta within the Industry."
Belesta LC2 has been exceptionally well received within the Scottish fishing industry since its introduction in 2002. Belesta LC2 is a friction reducing lubricant that can be added to engines or hydraulic systems at 5% with the ability to reduce noise, wear, temperature and fuel consumption.
