Freitasmar, the Portugese expert in the production of canned seafood, has achieved the Friend of the Sea (FoS) certification for its Skipjack and Yellowfin tuna.

This means that the company complies with all Friend of the Sea requirements and can now display the official seal of approval on its products.
“Offering high-quality sustainable products has been our main priority for years,” said José Maria Freitas, CEO, Freitasmar. “Achieving the Friend of the Sea international certification is a big step forward for our company.”
All of Freitasmar’s tuna is fished by Friend of the Sea certified supplier Frabelle, a fishing company from the Philippines. The fish is caught through purse seine method in the Western Central part of the Pacific Ocean.
Freitasmar is a Portuguese company, founded in 1994 and headquartered in Vila Nova de Gaia. The company produces a large variety of canned seafood products and distributes them internationally.
