MarinTrust has launched a new web page for all fishery improvement projects (FIP) in its improver programme.

The MarinTrust’s Improver Programme (IP) certifies producers which source their marine ingredients sourcing from improving fisheries. There are currently six active FIPs accepted on the MarinTrust IP.

MarinTrust has launched an online resource for its improver programme

To ensure all FIP information can be easily accessed and progress reviewed, MarinTrust has created the new interactive online resource.

FIPs accepted on to MarinTrust’s programme must be able to show they are progressing in line with their action plan and supply evidence. This information must be transparent and publicly available.

The trust uses the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership’s FIP ratings evaluation tool to ensure a simple and internally recognised measure of progress.

This tool defines and assesses FIPs against time benchmarks to understand the rate at which a fishery is improving, assigning and reporting a grade on the FishSource website.
