The Honourable Joyce Murray MP – Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard

Ms Murray’s federal political career follows four years serving in the cabinet of the Government of British Columbia and a 25-year career building an international reforestation company. Founded by Ms Murray in 1979 with husband Dirk, the company has planted almost 1.5 billion trees.

With a master’s thesis on global warming, Ms Murray is said to favour progressive policies in government, advocating for strong, smart environmental measures, such as a tanker ban on British Columbia’s north coast.
