European Seafood Exposition (ESE), the world’s largest seafood trade event, began in April 1993 as a result of requests from European customers who attended International Boston Seafood Show who wanted to have a seafood specific event in Europe.

ESE became the first event of its kind in Europe focused specifically on seafood products. The 2012 event, held from 24-26 April, marks the 20th edition of the event which has grown throughout the years to become the most important global event for the seafood industry.

Throughout the years there have been many changes to the event, including the addition of Seafood Processing Europe (SPE) in 1998. The addition was in response to the growing number of visitors, you, who were looking for the equipment, technology and services needed in order to process, package and deliver seafood.

Now expanding to six halls and the patio area at Parc des Exposition, this global event attracts more than 14,000 buyers from more than 145 countries. Spanning over 33,800m2, these industry professionals are able to do an entire year’s worth of business in three days all under one roof.

Today, in its 20th edition, European Seafood Exposition, along with Seafood Processing Europe and the prestigious Seafood Prix d’Elite competition, has become the most important global event for the seafood industry. Every spring, seafood industry professionals flock to Brussels because no other event offers this unique combination of products, the ability to connect with old and new colleagues, while catching a glimpse of what to expect in years to come.
