With European Fisheries Fund (EFF) scheme ending in December, the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) has announced panel deadlines for the rest of the year and is urging the industry not to miss out on funding.

The EFF scheme is open all year round for receipt of applications. Depending on the type, size and cost of a project, a decision will either be considered by the selection panel for large or particularly technical projects costing more than £100,000 or, for smaller projects, by the EFF team on an ongoing basis.

The first deadline of 2013 has passed but the deadlines for the upcoming panels are:

  • 20 March (panel on 15 May)
  • 22 May (panel on 10 July)
  • 17 July (panel on 11 September)
  • 18 September (panel on 6 November)

Catherine Murphy, programme manager for the EFF in England said, “We have received a lot of high quality applications for our upcoming panel in March and were able to award grants to some very worthwhile projects during the last panel meeting in November.”

Ms Murphy is advising anyone thinking of applying to do so soon, as available funding could run out.
