Drydocks World and Maritime World has reduced its tariff rates for all aspects of business, including fishing vessels, at Dubai Maritime City (DMC) and Jadaf.

The decision was made in order to help small vessel owners. Maritime World hopes that the new rates will facilitate the growth of the industry and increase the repair and maintenance options available to small to medium sized vessel owners.
Khamis Juma Buamim, chairman, Maritime World, said: “We are able to play our part in the growth and development of the industry, especially the small scale vessel owners, and offer greater value by enhancing the quality of service delivery."
"We have pledged our support to the small boat owners and to organisations such as the Dubai Fishermen’s Cooperative Association and other such associations which benefit small commercial fishermen."
He pointed out that fishermen represent the country's rich maritime heritage and are in danger of being phased out by the great technological strides taken by the industry.
"Vessel owners registered with the Dubai Fishermen’s Cooperative Association will be entitled to a further 10% discount on certain services," he added.
DMC and Jadaf offer a range of marine services through contractor companies based within the area. In the near future, Drydocks and Maritime World hope to increase the berthing capacity at DMC by adding five dry berths and wet berths to address increasing demand.
